So distinct is the Roundhouse’s architecture, that its name reflects its shape and form. From its roots as an engine repair shed to its revolutionary arts centre days (from 1966 to present), the building’s shape has played a big role in its use. Adapting it for various uses has challenged the creativity of many architects and designers, and performers always comment on its distinct original architectural features.
