Asma Elbadawi
Asma was born in Sudan and moved to Bradford, West Yorkshire when she was 1 year old.
In 2015 she was part of Words First, a national project from Roundhouse and BBC Radio 1Xtra to shine a light on the existing spoken word scene and to help find and nurture new and emerging talent across the UK.
As a dyslexic poet, poetry has helped her make up her own rules for using words and she writes about the everyday, from conversations with a friend to nostalgia for her home country. Asma has a master’s degree in visual art and wants to explore a collaboration between this and her writing.
